May 1
Had a fantastic day yesterday. Walked longer than any day before. And higher.
Totally still, cloudless, warm. Blue and yellow and white. Apart from a few Norwegian flags flying outside the “hytte” on the first of May.
Reached the summit, the water-divide is passed. Now it will be downhill in principle until Jönköping where we climb up onto the Southern Swedish Highlands…
The mountain showed its most lovable side yesterday. It has got others. 293 years ago a Swedish army retreated over the mountains here nearby. 3000 soldiers never made it through the storm and froze to death on the mountain. The Swedish era as a European superpower ended in a blizzard up on these mountains. But yesterday they embraced a lone Swedish walker with bliss and beauty.
